Experience a vivid slice of history with a striking flash of scarlet and the resonating sound of pipes! The Canadian Army’s roots trace back to 1884 with the founding of the Infantry School Corps, Company ‘A’ in Fredericton. Observe as guards clad in historical uniforms reenact a drill ceremony, synchronizing their movements to the rhythm of a piper and drummer. You may even get the chance to ‘inspect’ the guard!
These ceremonial events are conducted at Officers’ Square in July and August: occurring seven days a week at 11am and 4pm, with an additional ceremony at 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sentry changes take place hourly at City Hall. Most Thursday morning ceremonies have the added honor of an inspection by local dignitaries.
