Allegedly constructed as the earliest among a trio of houses for the daughters of businessman James S. Neill, who resided across the street, this intricately adorned residence is located at 278/280 Church Street in Fredericton. The house was erected sometime between 1882 and 1888. This is inferred from historical records, as it appears on the 1888 fire insurance map of Fredericton but is absent from the 1882 birds-eye-view lithograph print of the city.
The house, with its exterior “i” paneling pattern on the second storey is unique in the City, however a mirror-image twin to this house exists in Sackville, New Brunswick.
